Motherhood Minis on May 25 | Mother's Day Gift

Moms are so often the ones taking all the family photos or photos of their kids that they are rarely in them. This year I’ve decided to offer Motherhood Minis to help moms be the ones in front of the camera for once!

I am opening four spots on May 25th. 25 minute sessions for mommas and their kiddos.

In-Home Family Session | Kansas City Photographer

The more I do in-home sessions the more I love the different side you get to see of families. I’ve noticed that everyone seems to be more comfortable in front of a camera when they are in a comfortable and familiar setting. The kids are often more playful, they are more cuddly, and sometimes they’ll even bring out some of their favorite toys to show off or document. Those often make some of the best at play with their favorite every day toys or stuffed animals. There’s nothing more comfortable than snuggled up on your own couch with mom.

I got to meet the Eick’s for the first time at their maternity session at Burr Oak Woods Nature Center. I’ve been looking forward to doing a session here for a while. I was excited when Robyn said they were willing to make the drive to try it. It did not disappoint!

In-Home Newborn Lifestyle | Baby G

One thing I love about in-home sessions is how slow paced and relaxed they can be. There’s no reason to rush and scramble. When a family is comfortable during their session that often reflected in their images.

Sweet Isla J. was a champ and slept through the entire newborn session. Our secret? Swaddled her up really tight and cozy. It was just what she needed. She was so comfy she snoozed the whole time—making her momma’s wish come true.

The first few weeks after bringing home a new baby are such a blur. It’s often hard to remember what life was like when they were so small and squishy. It’s one reason I love lifestyle sessions so much. These sessions capture those small moments early in a child’s life that are hard to remember because they go by so fast (and because of sleep deprivation).

To the parents of Isla: You guys are doing a fantastic job. Keep it up! <3

Olathe Maternity Photos | Kelley & Tyler

At the time of this session we were only two weeks away from Kelley's due date. I could feel the excitement and anticipation radiating from these two. The sweet smiles and giggles they shared together during their session were heart-stirring. It's like I wasn't even there and it was just the two of them enjoying the time they have before they meet their baby boy. It's how I wish all my photo shoots would go. Forget the photographer is there and be completely in the moment with each other! Ahh! [insert a hundred heart-eyed emojis]
